CMT Lotus Fitness is a virtual fitness business that gives women, dancers and other athletes the tools to succeed on their health and fitness journey no matter where they are!
We coach clients to the best of our abilities giving them sound and responsible advice to achieve their goals. Seeing coaching as a team effort, we work together with clients to create a healthy lifestyle that is realistic for clients to maintain, and help them implement the steps needed to succeed.
Every Client is unique.
We believe that there is no specific way of eating, exercising or living that works for everyone. This is why all of our programs are tailored to each clients goals and lifestyle. With this in mind, we take your specific health and fitness goals and work with the steps that best fit you and your body. We work together to keep you on track and encouraged to reach your goals.
We want the best for you.
Adopting new fitness habits can be very intimidating... so congratulations! Signing up with a coach is the biggest step! Now its time to put in the work. Working with us, you will be taking small steps to bring healthy habits to the forefront of your lifestyle to create sustainable change. We love celebrating all the small achievements! Each little victory is one step closer to a big one! We care about your progress so we make sure that these steps are achievable wherever you are within your health and fitness journey. Taking steps that are out of reach can become very unmotivating. We break down your goals into smaller ones, then into even smaller ones to ensure that you stay motivated and succeed. We work healthy habits into our clients lifestyle so healthy change becomes a natural part of who they are and their daily routine. We want you to feel your best and love yourself every step of the way!
I believe that health isn't a one day, one diet or one workout fix, but it is a journey with goals along the way!
Hi! My name is Chantal and I am the Owner of CMT Lotus Fitness!
I started CMT Lotus Fitness with a passion for helping others reach their health and fitness goals so they feel more confident, fit and energized! I want to help my clients reach their goals in a manner that doesn't include fat diets or quick fixes, I coach my clients by helping them implement steps to create a sustainable, healthy lifestyle that they love and feel in control of!
My health and fitness passion was present from a young age as I grew up a dancer. (Check out my dance background in the next tab!) Throughout my time at York University I studied in the BFA Dance in the Performance/Choreography Stream and studied a couple years in Kinesiology. I began completing fitness certifications at the same time. During my time at the university, I led a fitness workout program for the dance majors under the Dance Student's Association (DSA). I also had the opportunity of teaching Zumba® classes at Seneca at York.
I love doing a variety of courses and certification programs because I want to have as much knowledge as I can and to look at the same areas from different scopes. This is all so I can offer that knowledge to my clients and help them get to their goals as safely, efficiently and effectively as possible. My interest in fitness began in grade 12 in an exercise science class. As a dancer I loved being able to understand how my body moves, learning the musculoskeletal system was my favorite part (and still is!). In university I began with courses from CanFitPro where I became a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Healthy Eating and Weight Loss Coach. I have had many experiences training clients in and outside my business. Prior to beginning CMT Lotus Fitness I worked in one of Canada's largest fitness facilities as a Personal Trainer, Team Trainer and Zumba® teacher.
I am dedicated to helping people reach their goals through constantly updating my education and credentials. Here is a list of the certifications I currently hold:
Currently the certifications I am working on include:
I have always been passionate about leading an active lifestyle. I began dancing at the age of 3! I have formally trained in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, acro and contemporary and have added circus arts such as pole and lollipop to my repertoire. I have had many opportunities performing in a variety of settings including on The Royal Caribbean Freedom of The Seas cruise ship in 2014 and in Riesa, Germany as a part of Team Canada competing at the International Dance World Championships. I also had opportunities teaching and choreographing at studios in the GTA and in student run shows at York University in person and online.
I attended York University and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honors Dance performance/choreography stream, Dean's Honor Roll. During my time at the university, I led a fitness workout program for the dance majors under the Dance Student's Association (DSA) and would hold weekly workout classes for students at the university. With the York Lions Dance Club, I taught weekly Intermediate/Advanced Jazz class and at Seneca at York I taught Zumba®.
I'm still dancing now! I'm always looking for gigs and more performance opportunities, love taking classes in and around the GTA, and am keeping up training on my own!
I have always loved the story of the lotus so I wanted to share it with you.
"The lotus flower, is a magical flower for it is rooted in mud, surrounded by water and somehow finds a way to bloom and grow. A lotus is a survivor, it pushes its way through muddy waters and finds the sunlight. As the bud hits the surface of the water and drinks in the sunlight, a single petal opens, signifying an achievement. Often times in our busy lives we overlook the smallest achievements. Each petal that opens is an achievement of survival, life and opportunity. A lotus has strength and beauty, it is able to overcome all of its environmental obstacles and show the world it's beauty."
“The lotus is the most beautiful flower, whose petals open one by one. But it will only grow in the mud. In order to grow and gain wisdom, first you must have the mud --- the obstacles of life and its suffering... The mud speaks of the common ground that humans share, no matter what our stations in life... Whether we have it all or we have nothing, we are all faced with the same obstacles: sadness, loss, illness, dying and death. If we are to strive as human beings to gain more wisdom, more kindness and more compassion, we must have the intention to grow as a lotus and open each petal one by one. ” - Goldie Hawn
